Pic 1 A modern computer can do without columns: we listen to music, play games, watch movies, and some headphones to do this is difficult. So you should know how to choose speakers for your computer.

Not immediately specify a time: most computer speakers are not designed for high fidelity sound. Music lovers and fans of movies in HD quality generally prefer to buy a good stereo or home theater-quality sound system, instead of listening to music or watching movies on your computer.

So our goal - to choose speakers that fit for everyday computer work, this will not be too expensive, but also of sufficient quality. Computer speakers are different from conventional smaller, isolated magnetic field compatible with a sound card and connectors.

The first thing that you need to pay attention - this type of speaker. Any column (not only computer) are divided into two types: active and passive. In active speakers have built-in amplifier, the passive is not.

The only real advantage of passive speakers - their low price. The sound quality is poor: the amplifier on the sound card, usually calculated only on headphones, full sound get no help. Therefore it is better to choose speakers with integrated amplifiers: they help you get loud and quality sound.

Speakers for computers have different layout options. The easiest option - a system 2.0, which consists of two columns. System 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, 7.1 and consist of several sub-woofer and satellite speakers. The subwoofer is responsible for the reproduction of low frequencies, satellites - for reproduction of mid and high frequencies.

2.1 system should choose to play quality music with good bass. If you want to use your computer as a home theater, it is better to take the system 5.1. But keep in mind that the motherboard and the sound card of the computer must support the speaker, for example, for a 5.1 system need a sound card with a six-channel sound. Otherwise, select the columns you'll have, and connect them - no.

If you decide to choose the column without the sub woofer (low-cost two-column system) will have to find a middle ground between sound quality and size: the smaller the size, the lower the sound (from small speakers no lower frequency). When you purchase a system with a subwoofer, please note that the subwoofer and center speaker should be one trend, and rear and front speakers are only sold in pairs.

An important consideration in the selection of speakers is the material body. Select the column of plastic - not the best solution. These speakers are cheap and can look quite interesting, but the acoustic characteristics of their approach zero. Therefore it is best to select the column from MDF / chipboard, they sound much better. On the case of columns should be extra holes, they are airtight.

The only possible opening, which may be on the speakers - this phase inverter. It is located next to the speaker on the front panel and is used for quality bass reproduction (low frequencies). But in the columns of less than one liter vented enclosure need to simply not.

Important parameters speakers - power, sensitivity and frequency. Power affects the mechanical reliability of the system, and not on the volume. The volume depends on the sensitivity is usually the best value for computer speakers - 85 dB.

Columns must be equipped with a regulator output (in other words, the volume), for convenience it should be displayed on the front panel. When buying speakers worth checking out, increasing the volume to determine at what volume will the distortion sound, and you have enough of the listening volume. Also desirable frequency controller - a separate low and high.

Additional useful "gadgets" - headphone on the front speakers, remote control, stand. They are optional, but if they are - it will be an added advantage when choosing speakers.

But the most important point - you have to select the columns that are appropriate to the sound card. Even the most expensive sound card does not give a good sound if the speakers are cheap and low quality. And vice versa - the coolest speakers are useless if you have a sound card built unpretentious.
